Building Where Our Jiu-Jitsu Student Used to Live Before the Fire
It’s amazing what we, from Brazilian Jiu–Jitsu San Clemente, can do together as a family. So far we sold more than 35 raffle tickets to help our dear friend and Jiu-Jitsu Student Dave, who lost everything last Friday when the fire burned all his belongs. Like Dave, 3 other apartments, where more than 10 other people used to live, got totally destroyed.
“That’s what makes our Jiu–Jitsu San Clemente Academy so Unique. We come together as a family. We help each other… We develop not only respect but empathy. And that’s very remarkable, specially in a world more and more cruel” says our Professor Black Belt Paulo Guillobel.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu San Clemente will be selling the raffle tickets until Feb 1st, when more than $200 in BJJ products and gears will be given away. So buy now your raffle for $5 each or make a donation:

Guillobel Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu San Clemente addresses one of the most common form of violence in the USA, the bullying. Our Jiu-Jitsu Kids and Little Kids Empowerment Programs offer a permanent and fast solution for who is been facing this subtle but terrible aggression. And our approach starts with awareness:
“A lot of people don’t know that bully is not only a physical aggression. The term Bully has more than 7 variations of names, such as teasing and gossiping. That’s right! People see gossiping as a ‘normal’ action, but it’s a very disrespectful action against any person… pretty much any form that you can hurt people’s feeling is an aggression… and gossiping is one of them. A feeling hurt causes more damage than scratches in the body”, says Jiu-Jitsu San Clemente Head Instructor Paulo in an interview.
Guillobel BJJ School in California brings awareness, solutions and empathy to all its students, so they can never be a victim in the first place. Our San Clemente School is associated to Character Counts! and with their guidance we are always on top of this subject. Today we would like to share with you this article – hope it’s helpful.

San Clemente Jiu-Jitsu Bows to Martin Luther King Jr
San Clemente Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu bows to Martin Luther King Jr’s courage and principles. In a time of discrimination, Martin Luther King “expanded American values to include the vision of a color blind society, and established his reputation as one of the greatest orators in American history.”
The Nobel Peace Prize Winner brought to the world one of the most inspired speeches of all times, “I Have a Dream…”
Let us all from San Clemente Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy be inspired by Martin Luther King’s courage, values and that we allow ourselves to have better and meaningful dreams, even in times of double.
Here are some quotes from our Hero, brought you by San Clemente Jiu-Jitsu:
” A man can’t ride your back unless it’s bent.”
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
“A man who won’t die for something is not fit to live.”
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. ”
“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”
“Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see.”
