Guillobel BJJ San Clemente Students Say No to Drugs

Our BJJ San Clemente school will be at the Red Ribbon Parade this Monday, Oct 25th at Av Del Mar. For who doesn’t know, the Red Ribbon Parade is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. For this Monday, our jiu jitsu students and instructors must wear our jiu-jitsu uniform with shoes, and must meet us up at 3:15pm to 3:45 pm at the Surfing Donuts:

220 N. El Camino Real – San Clemente, Ca 92672

The parade starts at 4 p.m. at the top of Del Mar and concludes in the parking lot of the Library/Community Center. This annual theme  is “Don’t let Drugs Blur Your Vision”.

Because of the parade, we’ll not have the BJJ little kids empowerment class this Monday (regular classes for adults).

The following class for the little kids (4-7) will be on Wednesday, when we’ll host the Halloween Buddy Day, from 4 – 5:30 pm.

As an instructor, mentor and friend, Jiu-Jitsu San Clemente takes very serious the responsibility to empower all our students to make good choices in life. Please parents, let’s do it together: let’s all say No to Drugs. Bring your children for the parade. More info: Cata 949 366-2107

What is Red Ribbon Week?

Red Ribbon Week serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of drug free America.

And, perhaps more importantly, Red Ribbon Week commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffikers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children safe.

San Clemente Jiu-Jitsu head Instructor Paulo interviews one of his oldest student from US, Eric. Eric is being with Paulo for more than 8 years and in their journey through Pasadina, Torrance, San Pedro and finally San Clemente, they developed a great respect and admiration for each other. San Clemente Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Seafest Guillobel BJJ

Last year, our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy had a booth at the 2009 San Clemente Seafest in partnership with our dear jiu-jitsu student Roberto Diaz. It was unbelievable how many complements we heard from Roberto’s secret panamanian clam chowder recipe. It was so tasteful that as I’m writing now, I get watery mouth.

Unfortunately, this year we didn’t find the time (to be more precise almost 2 days) to cook this delicious chowder. Roberto, a successful writer, and his wonderful yogini wife Marla just had a blessed child; and we are extremely excited for the Jiu-Jitsu Pro Gear Open on Oct 24th.

But, as you will see on the video above, Guillobel Jiu-Jitsu is community oriented. Somehow, while part of our team was training at the BJJ Competition Team that sunday, the other part of our family found time to support the event. And I guest, they got the best part: taste delicious claw shoulder at the most beautiful place in San Clemente. Next year, let’s do it all together.
