San Clemente Jiu Jitsu Patches required on everyone’s gis

San Clemente Jiu Jitsu requires that every student has AT LEAST 2 patches on the gi (uniform), one for the back of the jaquette and the other one for the heart area. The patches are extremely important and it’s part  of your gear. It shows your pride in being part of our so loved Guillobel BJJ San Clemente team. Remember that the patch represents what school you belong to. It’s your flag.

If you are going to compete at the Jiu-Jitsu Pro Gear Open, more than ever you should have the patches. Until the end of the week we are running an AMAZING promo: 2 patches for JUST $15! The promo ends this Saturday at 1 pm. Hurry Up and buy yours!

Guillobel Interviews a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Warrior

Richard Hamper is a friend that we are proudly to promote and embrace. Today in his 26 years of age, Rick is a BJJ Blue Belt under professor Randy Bloom and has to overcome everyday a physical problem. But he does not let it get in the way of his training. Rick trains very hard and he’ll be competing at the Jiu-Jitsu Pro Gear Open this Sunday, on 24th.

Professor Paulo Guillobel interviews him and his coach after a welcome training at our Jiu-Jitsu San Clemente Academy. Our Jiu-Jitsu Instructor is very excited to host this amazing fight at the event, ” It’s impressive  to see how some people have the  hability to  inspire others to train, and Rick is one of them. He is a real Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Warrior”

We hope after you watch Rick’s match at the Jiu-Jitsu Pro Gear Open San Clemente, you’ll be motivated to give your best and no longer use excuses to don’t train. :)

San Clemente Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Seafest Guillobel BJJ

Last year, our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy had a booth at the 2009 San Clemente Seafest in partnership with our dear jiu-jitsu student Roberto Diaz. It was unbelievable how many complements we heard from Roberto’s secret panamanian clam chowder recipe. It was so tasteful that as I’m writing now, I get watery mouth.

Unfortunately, this year we didn’t find the time (to be more precise almost 2 days) to cook this delicious chowder. Roberto, a successful writer, and his wonderful yogini wife Marla just had a blessed child; and we are extremely excited for the Jiu-Jitsu Pro Gear Open on Oct 24th.

But, as you will see on the video above, Guillobel Jiu-Jitsu is community oriented. Somehow, while part of our team was training at the BJJ Competition Team that sunday, the other part of our family found time to support the event. And I guest, they got the best part: taste delicious claw shoulder at the most beautiful place in San Clemente. Next year, let’s do it all together.

The best reward from training at San Clemente Jiu-Jitsu

Last weekend, a lot of our students from San Clemente Jiu-Jitsu academy got together to celebrate blue belt Joshua’s 16th birthday. It was incredible how many of our students saved the time to be there. And that’s what makes me think of how much (and in how many ways) our academy changes people’s lives. It is extremely rewarding what our Martial Arts, gi, mentor, and sweat offer us.

After eating a delicious barbecue made by Mike, Paulo and I drove back home thinking: “the best part of all is our eternal friendship.”

Yours for Success,

Catarina Guillobel

San Clemente Jiu Jitsu Embraces Character Counts!

San Clemente Jiu Jitsu embraces Character Counts! Our Guillobel Team was presented at the Character Counts annual event on 2009 and 2010, held at Vista Del Mar Middle School in San Clemente. Last year our brazilian jiu-jitsu students did an amazing demonstration and it was featured on the Orange County Register website.

This year of 2010, instead of a demonstration, we were at the event bringing awareness in how to build kids confidence and in how to prevent bullies. Unfortunately our team couldn’t make a demonstration because they were at the BJJ Nationals Championship (when, by the way, everyone of our competitors brought a medal home).

In every class of our Jiu-Jitsu Little Kids, Kids and Juniors Empowerment programs, our professors reinforce the Character Counts’ 6 pillars of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Guillobel BJJ Academy is very proud to do so. Because as their mentor, it’s our duty to teach them values that last forever.
