Health
BJJ incorporates exercises and drills that improve cardiovascular fitness and endurance, help build muscle strength and improve muscle flexibility so they are perfect for anyone wanting to improve their overall fitness.
Also flexibility is another natural byproduct when training jiu-jitsu because every class we incorporate stretching exercises in the workouts.
Confidence
Brazilian Jiu-Jitu has a proven way to build the student’s confidence. Unlike other martial arts, BJJ has a very clear goal: make your partner give up/tape out trough the right application of the techniques. Once the student masters the techniques and apply them correctly, the student will have their own confirmation of their improvement once he/she makes other take out.
Discipline
Discipline is the core of any martial art, especially Jiu-Jitsu. At our school we promote self-discipline and we have tools to do it: the Dojo Etiquette and the Student’s Oath.
The self-discipline that develops as a result of learning and practicing the techniques usually carries over into other areas of the child’s life. School grades often improve as your child learns to focus on objectives and to work toward achievement.
Better Performance
The self-discipline that develops as a result of learning and practicing the techniques usually carries over into other areas of the student’s life. School grades often improve as our student learns to focus on objectives and to work toward achievement.
Self-Defense
You’ll learn not just physical skills but will also improve your alertness, reaction time, awareness, focus of mentality, and commitment — all of which have tremendous effects on self-defense capabilities.
The ability to defend ourselves is, quite rightly, associated with strength and power. Therefore, it becomes logical that learning to defend one improves self-esteem.
Friendship / Social Interaction
As well as training and learning with others with similar goals, many martial arts trainees help encourage and motivate each other and end up becoming very good friends. Many martial arts instructors too have very friendly dispositions and foster a fun and friendly environment in which to train which endears them to their students who typically also become close friends.
