At Guillobel Brazilian Jujitsu Academy (BJJ) in San Clemente, Orange County, every Sunday morning at 11am, it is time for, what we call, the Open Mat Training.
Guillobel BJJ martial arts school is the only one in Orange County that opens its doors, once a week, for people from all martial arts schools to come train in a spirit of friendship and harmony.
Our Open Mat is for everyone, and it is FREE! You don’t have to be a Guillobel BJJ student to come train our Open Mat. You don’t even need to be a Brazilian Jujitsu student at all.
People come from all over the U.S. to train with us on Sundays. On the Open Mat, you will see black belts, brown belts, all the way to white belts training together. If you’ve never had a chance to train with a BJJ black belt, or a brown belt, then Guillobel BJJ Open Mat will give you this chance.
The first thing you will experiment when you walk in the studio is a feeling of camaraderie, where everyone is treated as equal. You’ll also find students from many different Martial Arts Schools such as: Gracie Barra, Jean Jacques Machado, Tinguinha BJJ, OCBJJ, Optimus Jiu-Jitsu, Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu, Atos, and many more.
“I love the fact that my students and the students of other Academies have a chance to interact in a spirit of friendship… after all, above all… we are sharing our love for our martial art (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu).” Said our Sensei, Paulo Guillobel, about the Open Mat training.
So if you haven’t stopped by to train our Open Mat yet, just come over on any Sunday at 11am, and bring your Gi (Kimono). The only Sunday that we will be closed is November 2nd, because our team will be participating at the World Masters Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
